Welcome to the Twickenham Support Group - 'Behind the clouds the sun is shining'
Depression Alliance is the leading UK charity for people with depression. We work to relieve and to prevent this treatable condition by providing information, support and understanding to those who are affected by it.

The Twickenham self-help group enables people with depression to share their experiences and coping strategies with others in similar situations. Group meetings held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month are informal occasions offering empathy and understanding to all those who attend. The Group meetings are held in accordance with the charity's Ground Rules and are not to be viewed as 'therapy', rather occasions where members can receve encouragement, reassurance, support, and a 'listening ear'. This helps to counteract the negative approach to life often associated with the condition. The groups offer valuable backup to whatever professional healthcare is being received.

If you would like to attend please ring Alasdair, the Twickenham Group Facilitator on 07801240186.

If you need immediate support outside the Support Group we would advise you contact immediately your GP, your Mental Health Trust Community Team, The Samaritans on 08457 909090 or SANE on 0845 767 8000 (6pm -11pm every day).
